ATOME Energy pushing on in Paraguay with pure-play green fertiliser project – Ammonia.
ATOME Energy PLC (AIM:ATOM) CEO Olivier Mussat speaks to Proactive’s Thomas Warner to share an update on progress with the green ammonia Villeta project in Paraguay.
Mussat starts by highlighting the recent securing of investment from Baker Hughes and the support of the Paraguayan government, which has granted earning tax-free zone status for their project. Additionally Mark Randall, a prominent investor in renewable ventures, has joined as a new investor.
Advancements on the engineering side have also prompted the company to release a video showcasing their project’s specifics, including plant schematics and downstream market prospects.
On the financing front, ATOME Energy is actively engaging with investors and lenders, offering a detailed investment memorandum outlining the technical, market, and economic aspects of the project.
The ventur’s focus o green fertilisers aligns with the substantial demand in the agriculture sector, where ammonia constitutes over 80% of current fertiliser demand.
Mussat emphasises the project’s potential to generate carbon credits, significantly contributing to sustainability goals and creating local jobs in Paraguay.
