Beyon Chairman, Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, announced the completion of Phase 2 of the Company’s Solar Park at a ceremony which took place today, in the presence of H.E. Kamal Bin Ahmed Mohamed, President of Electricity and Water Authority, H.E. Mohamed bin Thamer Al Kaabi, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, H.E. Yasser bin Ibrahim Humaidan, Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs, H.E. Mrs Noor Bint Ali Al Khulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development, and Mr Mohamed Almoayyed Director YK Almoayyed & Sons. The event was held at the Royal Golf Club in Riffa, where members of Beyon’s Board of Directors, Beyon’s Executive team and team members involved in the project were present on the occasion.

Mr Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), announced that the memorandum of understanding between SCZONE and Energy China, a global Chinese company perating in the field of new and renewable energy, will soon be activated and transformed into a framework agreement between the signatories of the memorandum SCZONE, the Sovereign Fund of Egypt, the Egyptian Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company and the New and Renewable Energy Authority soon, after agreeing with the company regarding the establishment of a green hydrogen / green ammonia industrial complex within the Sokhna integrated zone in SCZONE.

Zhejiang Thermal Power and Longi Solar Sign Contract for Kom Ombo 200 MW Project in Egypt

Zhejiang Thermal Power Construction Co., Ltd. and Longi Solar Technology Co., Ltd. have signed a module purchase contract for the Kom Ombo 200 MW Project in Egypt during the SNEC Exhibition on May 25, 2023. The signing ceremony was attended by Mr Yu Wei, a member of the Party Committee and vice president of Zhejiang Thermal Power, and Mr Dennis She, vice president of Longi Group. The Kom Ombo project, located in the city of Ko Ombo in Egypt, will have an installed capacity of 200 MWac and a DC capacity of 230 MW, along with a 220 kV Booster Station. ACWA Power is the developer of the project, while the EPC contract has been awarded to a consortium consisting of China Power Engineering Consult and Zhejiang Thermal Power, affiliated with China Energy Engineering Company (CEEC group).

RCSI Bahrain Inaugurates 2.72 MW Solar Project

The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland – Medical University of Bahrain or RCSI Bahrain inaugurates a 2.72 MW solar project. The project was inaugurated under the presence of the Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs, His Excellency Mr Yasser bin Ibrahim Humaidan, Former Secretary General of the Higher Education Council as well as Deputy Chairperson of the Higher Education Council Board of Trustees, Her Excellency Dr Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Duaij Al Khalifa, Muharraq Deputy Governor, His Excellenc Brigadier Abdulla Khalifa Al Jeeran, and Head of WHO Representative Office, Dr Tasnim Atatrah. The members of the university’s Board of Governors, Executive Committee, officials, staff members, and students were also present during the launch.

Sunpure Signs 875 MW Contract with Samsung C&T for Intelligent PV Cleaning Robots Supply

Sunpure Technology CO., LTD., a global leading PV robotic cleaning solution provider, signed an 875MW intelligent PV cleaning robots supply contract with Samsung C&T Corporation -Engineering & Construction Group (Samsung C&T), for Qatar’s largest solar plant — the Industrial Cities Solar Power Project (IC Solar). The agreement was signed by Ms. Zoe Hu (Chairman and CEO of Sunpure), and Mr. J.Y.Kim (Vice President of Samsung C&T). The contract requires Sunpure to provide intelligent PV cleaning robots for two solar PV plants, with 875 MW of capacity. Both projects are expected to reach Commercial Operation at the end of 2024. This is the second large-scale PV project in Qatar which applies PV cleaning robot solutions.

The Israel Land Authority has recently published an online tnder inviting bids for the purchase of lease rights in four complexes to construct a solar energy production facility in Naot Hovav. Interested parties can now participate in this significant opportunity to contribute to the country’s renewable energy goals.

The tender includes the following complexes:

The tender offers lease opportunities for approximately 28,000 acres (11,331 hectares) of land in the Negev desert.

These complexes are part of plan 621-0479709, situated within the Ramat Bekaa special industrial zone. Spanning an area of approximately 112,838 dunams between highways 40 and 25, the plan encompasses the “Ramat Bekaa” complex, which serves as a dedicated industrial zone for defence industries and experimental areas. It provides space for engineering, industrial and craft facilities, as well as roads and open spaces.

Hitachi Energy Partners With Saudi Electricity Company And ENOWA For High-Voltage Transmission Systems In NEOM

The agreements include the supply of three high-voltage direct currents (HVDC) transmission systems to end customer ENOWA, the utility company for NEOM in Northwest Saudi Arabia. Built with sustainability in mind, NEOM is among Saudi Arabia’s Giga-Projects1 reshaping the future of development. The three HVDC links will have a total power capacity of up to 9 gigawatts (GW).

Oman Electricity Transmission Company Completes 132/33kV Grid Station In Saih Al Khairat, Dhofar Governorate

Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) successfully completes the 132/33kV grid station in Saih Al Kairat, the Governorate of Dhofar. The project consists of six bays of 132kV GIS, four bays of 33kV GIS switchgear, and two 125MVA Transformers. Another 91 km overhead transmission line is constructed that connects the Thumrait grid station with the Saih Al Khairat grid station. The total investment is RO 13 million. This project signifies a strategic investment made by OETC with the purpose of fulfilling the future electricity requirements of the Dhofar Governorate. Its primary objective is to ensure a steady and dependable power supply for various industries, including poultry farms, agriculture farms, and manufacturing units.
