(Montel) Utility Troms Kraft and investment firm Prime Capital plan to establish a 50 MW green ammonia plant in Glomfjord, northern Norway, they said on Thursday.
The companies planned to supply local industries as well as ships with the gas produced from hydrogen, they added in a statement.
A final investment decision would be made by Christmas, Stephan Klepsland, chairman of subsidiary firm Neptun Tromso, told Montel.
The project had been awarded a grid connection totalling 20 MW and had applied for an additional 30 MW, seeing potential annual power demand of 440 GWh, he added.
