TEECS Green Teams Visit Urmit Farm!

On Thursday, May 11th, 2023, students from TEECS’ Green and Environmental Alliance Club had a field trip to Urmit Farm in Hillsborough. During this excursion, students got a look into the world of biochar. Biochar is lightweight black residue, made of carbon and ashes. In other words, it is hat remains after biomass’s pyrolysis (thermal decomposition).

As they learned about more ways to be environmentally friendly, students were ecstatic to load and cook the biomass themselves! Go Green Teams!
