VICTORIA, Texas – Two green energy projects are underway at the Port of Victoria.

The Port of Victoria reports First Ammonia is developing a facility to produce green ammonia from solar and wind power. Green ammonia is a clean, renewable fuel that can be used to power ships and trucks.

Vitis Energy is developing a solar-powered battery storage facility. Battery storage is used to store clean energy when it is abundant and use it when it is needed.

Port of Victoria officials say these projects will help us reduce our reliance on fossil fuels.
