Components for the first large commercial green hydrogen plant in Brazil arrived at its Aratu port on 14-15 June.
The BBC Dakota carried the part from the Netherlands for Brazilian chemical company Unigel’s green hydrogen plant in Bahia state. That is the first industrial-scale green hydrogen project in Brazil, according to Unigel.
The company expects the project to have three phases. The first should start this year and produce 100,000 metric tonnes (t)/yr of hydrogen and 60,000 t/yr of green ammonia. The second phase should be delivered in 2025 and add 30,000 t/yr of hydrogen and 180,000 t/yr of ammonia to the plant’s capacity. The last phase is expected to come on line in 2027 and add 60,000 t/yr of hydrogen and 960,000 t/yr of ammonia.
