(MENAFN- Nam News Network) AMMAN, Aug 8 (NNN-PETRA) – Jordan and Egypt signed 12 agreements yesterday, to strengthen their cooperation in various fields.
Following the 31st session of the Jordanian-Egyptian Joint Higher Committee, held in Amman yesterday, the two sides inked the agreements that cover the areas of economic policymaking, financial oversight, environmental protection, social affairs, media, culture, vocational training, social security, health, religious endowments, and postal services.
Jordanian Prime Minister, Bisher Khasawneh, stressed that, Jordan-Egypt relations are“an example to follow” in the joint Arab action, as the two countries are always keen on coordination and consultation over issues of mutual interest.
He emphasised that, Amman and Cairo share the view that regional stability cannot be achieved without a fair, comprehensive and long-lasting solution to the Palestinian issue, based on the two-state solution.
Egyptian Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, wo led a delegation to attend the meeting, said, it is part of the“strategic and historical” relations between the two countries, noting that the two sides have overcome most of the committee’s challenges over the past few years.
He also said, the two countries are now willing to cooperate in new projects, in the fields of renewable energy, green hydrogen, and green ammonia, among other programmes that could bring benefits for both sides.– NNN-PETRA
