CN CMEC: China’s First Green Ammonia Project with 100,000 Tons on the Way
China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) will develop and implement the first green ammonia project by synthesizing green hydrogen with final product available to the international market in response to the carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals proposed by China to fulfill the social responsibility as a state-owned enterprise. This project is located in Northwest China with PV installed capacity 728MWp, energy storage capacity 640MVA/1280MWh and green hydrogen output 64000Nm3/h. The feasibility study and other prophase work of this project have been completed and it will soon enter the construction stage. This system consists of six units: photovoltaic power generation unit, electrical energy storage unit, hydrogen generation by water electrolysis unit, nitrogen production by air separation unit, synthetic ammonia unit and liquefaction storage unit.
